Itinerary

Day 1AIRPORT-PRAIJING-LAPOPU WATERFALL (Meals: Lunch - Dinner)

Upon arrival, we will start our journey right away. We will bring you to the Praijing village. This village is built on top of a hill and if you want to walk through the entire village, you actually have to walk down the hill. You will have an overview of the entire village at the entrance. On top of that, the inhabitants of the village built a spot where you can have a panoramic view of the village and beyond. The village is also surrounded by the beautiful nature of Sumba.
Next on our adventure will be the Lai popu Waterfall. After a drive through the endless hilly and green landscape of Sumba, you will arrive nearby the waterfall. To visit the waterfall, you will need to do a small hike of approximately 15 minutes and cross a bamboo bridge to get there. There is a nice spot to sit down where you can watch the water find its way down the hill. You can also bring your swimming clothes to take a dive in the water just in front of the big waterfall and cool down after a long day of adventure.

Day 2WAIGALI VILLAGE - MAROSI/KEREWE BEACH - WATU BELLA BEACH (Meals: Breakfast -Lunch – Dinner)

From the beach side, we will continue our journey to West-Sumba. We will stop at one of the many nice villages in the Lamboya & Wanokaka district, called Waigali. Waigali is a village located on top of a hill where we can see a spectacular view. With one of the oldest villages that is still very much alive in Sumba, we will get to know the island better and better. After the village visit, we will make our way to Marosi beach. This long, white sandy beach is a very nice place to have a relaxing and quiet walk on the beach. Like many beaches in Sumba, it is very likely that you will have this beach for yourself. Nearby Marosi Beach, there is Kerewee beach. Kerewee is an amazing place to drink and eat a fresh coconut which the locals will offer to you. The magical big rocks in the water are making this beach unique. Believe it or not but there is another beautiful beach nearby which is a must-see if you are nearby. The beach of Watubela is just 15 minutes of walking from Kerewee beach. While walking, you will see a lot of coconut trees when you are heading towards the beach. At arrival, you will immediately have a fantastic panoramic view. When you get on the beach, you can enjoy this beautiful place with blue water, a big wall of yellow rocks and the big flat grey rocks in the middle of the beach where you can have a view from above. This beach also has a secret cave. Try to find it when you are there and be amazed about the large cave it would show you with an opening towards the sea.

Day 3WAITABAR/TARUNG-AIRPORT (Meals: Breakfast)

Breakfast at the hotel and free time until the transfer time to the airport.
If time permitted, we will make a short visit to the village of Tarung – Waitabar. Both villages located next to each other (literally!) and are still very much alive. These villages are located inside the capital of Waikabubak, and the villagers still practicing what they practice since the old time, a clear example of how tradition can persist inside a more modern city. After the visit we drive directly to Airport of Tambolaka.
